Direct-to-Garment Printing
With Direct-to-Garment printing fabric-grade ink is printed onto the garment and allowed to blend with the fibers. Afterwards, it is cured so it doesn’t wash off (this is often done with heat). DTG prints often have a vintage look to them. Because the print is just a layer of ink that’s been sunken into the fabric, the garment remains breathable. This is in contrast with vinyl and Direct-to-Film, which involves a layer being placed upon the garment and cured/heated to stick to the fabric. With these two methods, the garment typically is not breathable wherever the design is placed.
